The old building was here when we arrived in '96.  We now think it was an "old home place" around here.  I used it for my Plumbing shop until Spring of '02.  At that time is was leaning 8" from front to back and 12" side to side.  When we stripped off the wall boards inside to plumb the building we found "Hand Hewn" corner posts.  The renovation is well under way at this point.  The wall and all of the windows are new.  The building is 800 square feet.  I could use twice as much space.  That is not likely to happen so I will have to work smarter.
This is what the shop looks like in March of '04.  All new walls (on all four sides), new windows, all new wiring, all new plumbing, 4 tons of air conditioning and dehumidification.  The air conditioning is set up to condition the air lost while the fan is running in the spray booth before it is dumped back into the shop.  That is very important here in Texas where it can be really humid.
Yes.........It really does snow here in Texas.  It was a great day to build banjos.  I almost felt like I was in the mountains.  My 4 year old didn't remember what snow looked like.  It has snowed here in the last four years but that is a long time to a little one.
